DAL LAKE

Dal Lake, the heart of Srinagar, is a mesmerizing expanse of water that perfectly captures the city’s charm. Spanning 15 km, it is the second-largest lake in Jammu & Kashmir, offering breathtaking reflections of the snow-capped Pir Panjal mountains. The lake is famous for its vibrant houseboats, iconic shikaras, and the enchanting floating market (Raad), where vendors sell handicrafts, saffron, and local delicacies. In winter, the frozen lake transforms into a natural ice-skating rink. Nearby attractions include Char Chinar Island, Nagin Lake, Chashme Shahi, Shankaracharya Temple, Hari Parbat, and Hazratbal Shrine, making it a must-visit destination.
